After passing the Louisiana State Bar examination in 1992, Mr. Fransen began work at Phelps Dunbar in its London Marine section, specializing in personal injury defense. He then began work at his family firm, Fransen & Hardin, where he practiced automobile casualty, premises liability, admiralty, class actions and general litigation. Mr. Fransen graduated Cum Laude from Tulane University Law School. There, he was awarded the Rufus C Harris Award for the highest grade in Torts, and also received the highest grades in Business Enterprises and Tugs and Towage. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame where he majored in English and minored in Spanish and Political Science. Mr. Fransen is an active member of the American Bar Association, the Louisiana Association for Justice, the New Orleans Bar Association and the St. Thomas More Inn of Court. Mr. Fransen is active in the community and has served on the Boards of Project Lazarus, Save Our Cemeteries and the French Quarter Citizens.
