Laura obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University, suma cum laude, with a major in Psychology with a focus on Special Education. Laura received her Juris Doctorate in 2023, graduating cum laude, from Tulane University School of Law. As a student-attorney in the Juvenile Clinic, she dedicated herself to advocating for the educational and mental well-being of incarcerated children. Laura's commitment extended beyond the courtroom as she served as a representative for the First Generation Law Student Association, received Certification in Civil Law, and was awarded Pro Bono All Star Recipient for her contributions to Disability Rights Louisiana.
Before joining The Cheek Law Firm, LLC, Laura clerked at the Orleans Civil District Court and at the Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. While gaining a unique insight into the court process, Laura also learned the importance of unwavering persistence during the appeal process. Laura's dedication to her clients remains steadfast throughout the appeal journey, ensuring that justice is served.
Beyond her legal pursuits, Laura has an adventurous spirit. Born and raised in Jupiter, FL, Laura grew up playing soccer on the beach. Always eager to broaden her horizons, Laura embraces new experiences and interactions. From heart-pounding skydives to the delicate art of stained glass, she is always on a quest for knowledge and excitement. Most recently, Laura's zest for life made her a winner on a daytime television gameshow.
